Unilock Construction in Ontario, CA | Gold Star Contractors
We provide independent Unilock paver, retaining wall, and U-Cara facade installation and repair across Ontario, CA. Our Unilock work here is different because we build for Ontario’s specific conditions: slab-era ranch lots with old fill in the 91761/91762/91764 core, Santa Ana wind cycles, and hard Inland Valley water that leaves salt haze on unsealed pavers. Whether you’re replacing a cracked driveway off Euclid or building a new paver patio in a newer east-side tract, we specify the Unilock line that fits your yard and budget. Call (833) 382-8544 for a free estimate, or read on to see how we approach Unilock construction in Ontario.

Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for Unilock Service
We’ve set Unilock Brussels Block, Beacon Hill, and U-Cara systems across the Inland Valley for years, so we know how these products behave in Ontario’s heat, wind, and slab-era soils. Because we’re independent, we recommend the Unilock line that fits your project rather than pushing whatever a dealer is clearing out. Noel Carranza grew up in Anaheim’s Platinum Triangle, where watching older tract homes get renovated block by block first got him interested in how buildings actually go together. He studied construction technology at Fullerton College, then spent the better part of his twenties doing everything from concrete work to finish carpentry on projects across Orange County before building his own operation. That background means we treat your Unilock project like the multi-trade job it usually is: base prep, drainage, edge restraint, and the finished surface all have to work together. We’re also fast – most Ontario Unilock repairs are quoted within a day and scheduled the same week. Our full scope of Unilock sales & service covers everything from a single cracked paver to a full driveway rebuild.

Common Unilock Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario
- Efflorescence bloom on Brussels Block and Beacon Hill. Ontario’s water is hard, and when irrigation cycles run through the summer, mineral salts migrate up through the paver face and leave a white haze. We strip it correctly and seal with a breathable sealer so it doesn’t reappear by Labor Day.
- Base failure and paver heaving. A lot of older Ontario patios were laid over old dairy-era soil or loose fill without proper compaction or geotextile. The result is a wavy surface that only gets worse after winter rain. We lift, re-compact, and re-lay on a clean Class II base.
- U-Cara wall block shifting or bulging. We see this often on Ontario properties where walls were built without geogrid and a proper drainage column behind the block. Santa Ana wind-driven dust works into the drain rock and clogs it, behind-the-wall water pressure builds, and the face starts to lean. We rebuild it right.
- Sun-faded and chipped paver edges. Ontario’s inland sun is punishing on unsealed driveways. Joint sand washes out after Santa Ana wind events and monsoon-style winter rain, and exposed edges chip. We color-match and replace damaged units, then re-sand with quality polymeric sand that holds.
- Drainage that puddles at the garage apron. This is common on older Ontario ranch homes where the lot grade was set for dairy-era drainage, not a modern paver driveway. We re-grade the base so water moves away from the house instead of pooling.
Unilock Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Ontario’s older ranch lots in 91761, 91762, and 91764 were graded for dairy-era drainage and often carry buried utility lines, old slabs, and fill. That means a Unilock paver driveway here usually needs hand-excavated base and utility locating that an east-side tract build never demands. We tore out a cracked 1960s concrete driveway on a ranch home off Holt Boulevard near downtown Ontario and found old slab fragments and a buried irrigation line under the base. After hand-digging to a clean subgrade, we built a compacted Class II base with geotextile and set a Brussels Block driveway and matching walkway that drains away from the house instead of puddling at the garage apron. The homeowner got a driveway that handles Santa Ana dust and winter runoff without the heaving the old slab had. That’s the difference between a paver job that lasts fifteen years and one that fails in four. If you’re in the older core, your base prep matters more than your paver choice.
Unilock Models & Products We Service in Ontario
We install and repair the full Unilock residential line: Brussels Block (tumbled, dimensional paver), Beacon Hill (flagstone-look paver), U-Cara Multi-Face retaining wall, and the Brussels Dimensional and Copthorne accent lines. For patch and repair work, we use genuine Unilock pavers and U-Cara components so color, texture, and dimension match the existing field. We don’t substitute aftermarket copies that fade differently. We keep a working stock of common Unilock units in our local yard for faster turnaround on Ontario repairs, and we use quality polymeric joint sand rather than cheap sand that washes out in wind and rain. Our Ontario service area covers 91764, 91798, 91758, and 91761.

AfterUnilock Service Pricing in Ontario

| Paver Patio Installation | $3,500 – $11,000 |
| Driveway Replacement | $5,000 – $14,000 |
What drives the cost: base condition (older Ontario fill costs more to fix than clean east-side soil), access for hand-excavation if utilities run shallow, and the specific Unilock product you choose. FAQs – Unilock Construction in Ontario
That white haze is efflorescence, mineral salts migrating up through the paver face as irrigation water and Ontario’s hard water evaporate in the heat. We strip it with the right cleaner, dry, and seal with a breathable sealer so salts can’t re-crystallize on the surface. If it keeps returning, there’s usually a drainage issue under the pavers holding moisture against the underside. Call (833) 382-8544 for an evaluation, estimates are free.
Sometimes, but we don’t recommend it on Ontario’s older ranch lots. The existing slab has usually settled or cracked, and laying pavers on top just transfers those defects to the surface. On clean, sound slabs with good slope, an overlay can work. On older fill with buried lines and old slabs, the durable fix is full removal, re-grading, and a proper compacted base.
Santa Ana winds drive dust and fine sand into the wall’s drainage rock, which clogs it over time and traps water behind the block. Combined with missing geogrid or an undersized drainage column, that pressure pushes the wall face forward and starts a bulge. We rebuild walls with clean drainage rock, geogrid where height requires it, and a filter fabric detail that keeps wind-driven dust out. For an exact price to fix a leaning wall, call (833) 382-8544.
On flat, newer Eastvale-style lots with clean engineered fill, 4-6 inches of compacted Class II base is usually sufficient for pedestrian patios, 6-8 for driveways. On Ontario’s older core, where lots carry dairy-era fill, old slabs, and buried lines, we typically excavate deeper and build up a thicker base with geotextile separation so the old soil and new base don’t mix. The difference matters over ten years.
We use genuine Unilock pavers and U-Cara components for Unilock repair in Montclair and throughout the area so the color, texture, and dimension match the existing field. We don’t use aftermarket copies, which fade differently in Ontario’s inland sun and make a patch look like a patch forever. We also use quality polymeric joint sand rather than cheap sand that washes out in wind and rain.
